Our Specialized Staff

The MS Center is not a general neurology facility but a hub specifically for only MS patients to support them throughout in the management of disability and MS-related complications. Our staff of board certified neurologists and MS-certified registered nurses focus specifically on MS to ensure all patients receive coordinated, comprehensive care that addresses their physical and mental health needs. Upon referral, we see patients for initial evaluations within a timely manner. By diagnosing MS early and beginning treatment as soon as possible, we can take steps to prevent the patient's brain and spinal cord from further injury. We work closely with referring physicians and other medical specialists so that care is efficient and effective, from diagnosis to treatment to follow-up.

MaryAnn Picone, MD, is a board certified neurologist with over 20 years of experience in the field of multiple sclerosis. She is widely recognized for her clinical expertise, research acumen and comprehensive approach to patient care. Dr. Picone has been Medical Director of the MS Center at Holy Name Medical Center since 1993, and is a member of the Clinical Advisory Board of the New Jersey Metro Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Dr. Picone earned her medical degree and a completed a residency in neurology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey — New Jersey Medical School.
