John B. Fechter, Psy.D., completed his doctoral studies at Kean University's Nathan Weiss Graduate College, in Combined School and Clinical Psychology and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Princeton University.
As a graduate student, Dr. Fechter received training in neuropsychology from Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, in West Orange, NJ and Mt. Sinai Roosevelt Hospital, in NYC. He completed a specialized predoctoral internship in neuropsychological evaluation and treatment at Goodwill NeuroRehab and Neuropsychological Testing Center in Portland, Maine. He then returned to Kessler Institute where he completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology.
As a neuropsychologist at Holy Name Medical Center, Dr. Fechter works closely with the Supportive Care Team to evaluate and treat patients and their family members who are facing end of life care decisions or for patients who are living with extended illnesses and pain that requires medical and non-medical interventions. Dr. Fechter also provides comprehensive neuropsychological assessment and care, working closely with neurologists in the general outpatient practice and MS Center.
