We are open.
We are clean.
We are ready.

Holy Name Medical Center is happy to announce that we have begun our return to normal operations. You may wonder, Is the hospital safe? Yes. We are ready. Ready to partner with you and your family on all your healthcare needs.

Holy Name is the first hospital in North Jersey to complete a rigorous, deep cleaning of our 450,000 square feet of clinical and non-clinical space. We started with manual disinfection, then applied electrostatic sanitizing mist, and finally, blasted UV-C light to kill more than 30 types of pathogens — including Covid-19.

Patient Stories

Gastrointestinal Cancers

People digest food through a complicated system of organs that each play a role in breaking down and passing food along while absorbing key nutrients. Cancers that develop in any of these gastrointestinal organs – esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, liver, gallbladder, colorectal, pancreas and bile ducts – vary widely and require specific treatment.

Holy Name Medical Center's surgical oncologists, in conjunction with other specialists at the Cancer Center, treat all gastrointestinal cancers. They use the most advanced surgical techniques, including minimally invasive procedures, hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy, hepatic pump chemotherapy, and Nanoknife treatment with state–of–the–art equipment and technology.

Dr. Steve Sung Kwon, a board–certified, fellowship–trained surgical oncologist and health service researcher, specializes in the management of primary and secondary gastrointestinal cancers. In addition to surgical services, Dr. Kwon works closely with other Holy Name oncology specialists to provide each patient with the specific treatment needed such as surgical services, radiation oncology, interventional radiology and medical therapies, which include immunotherapies and targeted therapies.
