Dr. David Sorrentino, MD, is the Chief of Holy Name’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). A board-certified specialist in neonatal-perinatal medicine and pediatrics, his care philosophy is to use the least invasive interventions to allow for an infant’s growth and development. The most rewarding part of his work, he says, is helping a family in the NICU understand what’s happening and supporting them so that their baby goes home healthy.
Dr. Sorrentino is leading changes to grow and expand Holy Name’s NICU. By adding new staff and resources, families will receive the best possible care in a developmentally-friendly and family-centered environment.
From 2015 to 2020 Dr. Sorrentino served as Division Chief of Neonatology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he has also been an Associate Professor of Pediatrics since 2019. He graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine and completed his pediatric residency at New York University. He completed fellowship training in Neonatology at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.
