2024 Press Ganey NDNQI Award

Holy Name announced it has been named a recipient of a 2024 Human Experience (HX) National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI) Award for Outstanding Nursing Quality® by Press Ganey, the global leader in healthcare experience solutions and services. Press Ganey’s prestigious awards recognize organizations nationwide setting the bar in safety, quality, nursing excellence, employee engagement, and patient experience — the cornerstones of exceptional care.

As a winner of the HX NDNQI Award for Outstanding Nursing Quality®, Holy Name is one of seven healthcare organizations nationally to be honored for providing outstanding nursing quality. Press Ganey works with more than 41,000 healthcare facilities in its mission to reduce patient suffering and enhance caregiver resilience to improve the overall safety, quality and experience of care.

"Holy Name’s clinical nurses and nurse team leaders are making a real difference in the lives of their patients, and are a testament to the transformative impact of nursing,” said Patrick T. Ryan, CEO and Chairman at Press Ganey. “The compassion, empathy, and dedication they bring to their roles, while providing exceptional care, is truly commendable.”

Providing safe, reliable, and high-quality care for patients is a cornerstone of Holy Name’s mission. To achieve this goal, each nurse manager collaborates closely with the Quality Department to review Press Ganey NDNQI outcomes data and identify opportunities to enhance patient outcomes at the unit level. In addition, front-line staff are encouraged to participate in performance improvement efforts through a shared governance approach. Nurse executives, led by our Chief Nursing Officer, engage in daily patient rounds to gain input directly from patients and staff. Together, the team develops and implements innovative, evidence-based strategies to address key focus areas. Transparency in all projects provides valuable opportunities for learning and growth. These improvement projects are then shared with all nurse leaders during monthly Nursing Quality meetings and organization committee meetings, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement across the organization.

“We are honored to receive this award, which reflects our commitment to excellence in nursing," said Michele Acito, Chief Nursing Officer at Holy Name. "Nurses are an invaluable part of healthcare, and at Holy Name, we have cultivated a culture dedicated to nursing quality. Being distinguished among the hospitals that set the standard for nursing excellence is a true testament to our ongoing efforts. Holy Name’s commitment to continuous improvement in nursing quality is the foundation of the exceptional care we provide."
