Holy Name's team of neurologists is one of the few in the New York/New Jersey area that provides infusion therapy or interventional radiology procedures to break the cycle of chronic head pain in children. Children are brought to the pediatric unit for treatment and cared for by pediatric specialists.
Holy Name provides special pediatric pods for children entering the emergency department (ED). Board-certified pediatricians and pediatric nurses evaluate, monitor and treat children in an area separate from the bustle of the adult area of the ED. Children are comforted and treated with extra care to help reduce anxiety before they are released or moved to the pediatric floor, if admission is needed.
Children who are having an epileptic seizure and come to Holy Name Medical Center's emergency department (ED) are evaluated and then brought to the pediatric unit where they are monitored and treated by specialists in neurophysiology. On the pediatric floor, they are cared for by a team of experts who are experienced in treating epilepsy in a soothing, child-friendly environment.
