About Me:

Dr. Dennis J. Pfisterer, Jr., is an orthopedic surgeon and the Chief of Orthopedics at Holy Name, as well as the Orthopedic Administrative Clinical Director for Sports Health Services at Holy Name.

He focuses on surgical and non-surgical treatment of knee, hip, and shoulder injuries and is also an expert in injuries to all extremities. He takes a personalized approach to caring for each of his patients, learning about their needs and goals in order to give them the best possible outcomes. The opportunity to make someone’s life better, he says, is the most rewarding part of his work.

Dr. Pfisterer has advanced training in minimally invasive and robotic joint replacement and is pleased to offer patients many new and innovative techniques, such as arthroscopic and endoscopic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and robotic surgery. He also does research and helps design new technologies for hip and knee replacements.

Dr. Pfisterer earned his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed his orthopedic residency at WellSpan York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania, and received additional training at Sinai Hospital and the University of Maryland, Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland. He has been a contributing author for many scientific publications and has presented his work at national orthopedic conferences. In addition, he is the team orthopedic surgeon for Fairleigh Dickinson University, Bergen Catholic High School, and Park Ridge High School.

Dr. Pfisterer says he is honored to be at Holy Name because the staff are not only highly intelligent and skilled in their fields, but they all share a level of genuine kindness that is second to none.
