Emergency Care Center
Holy Name Medical Center’s award-winning Emergency Care Center is equipped to handle life-threatening conditions as well as less serious injuries and illnesses in a timely and compassionate manner. The Emergency Department is designated as a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission and has received the highest award for stroke care – Gold Plus – from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. Holy Name is an accredited Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers.
The Emergency Department staff is focused on getting patients to medical providers immediately. Upon arrival, patients will be asked a few simple questions and then promptly brought to a treatment area for evaluation by a trained triage registered nurse and physician or a physician assistant. Registration is completed at the bedside so delays in treatment are avoided whenever possible.
A number of bilingual emergency department clinicians speak Korean, Spanish, Chinese and other languages. A video translating service is also available 24 hours a day to help patients feel more comfortable and enable them to converse easily with their medical providers.
