Tribute Gifts
In Honor
We all know someone special - someone we admire, respect and love. Gifts in honor are a special way to express gratitude to a friend, colleague or family member.
Many times, words are simply not enough to thank someone who has helped you during a Medical Center stay or difficult time. Gifts made "in honor" recognize the outstanding contributions made by our doctors, nurses and other staff members or volunteers. It's a lasting gift that will surely brighten someone's day. You can also donate in honor of a special occasion, i.e.: in lieu of wedding favors or to celebrate the birth of a child, a special birthday or anniversary.
In Memoriam
A memorial gift celebrates and commemorates the life of a loved one who has passed away and helps in expressing your sympathy for grieving families. Your meaningful gift will serve as a lasting remembrance of a special person who has made a difference in your life.

Acknowledgement
An acknowledgement of your gift is sent to the person or family you are remembering/honoring - notifying them of your kind contribution without specifying the amount. You will also receive an acknowledgment letter with our thanks separately. Gifts not designated for a special purpose will be applied to the area of greatest need.
Founders Circle
The Founders Circle is Holy Name's leadership annual giving program comprised of an exceptional group of benefactors who help provide state-of-the-art medical care that is delivered with dignity and respect. Annual gifts of $1,000 or more qualify donors for special benefits and opportunities unique to Holy Name Medical Center. We welcome you to join the Founders Circle and demonstrate your commitment to the healing mission of Holy Name Medical Center. Capital Support
One of our top priorities throughout Holy Name Medical Center is securing essential philanthropic support for the expansion of our facilities and to purchase the most advanced medical technologies. This is a tremendous financial challenge.

The Internal Revenue Service allows donors one of its most significant tax breaks for gifts of appreciated securities. Holy Name Foundation accepts gifts of publicly traded securities. Gifts of securities have two very important advantages: 1) you can deduct the full value on the day they are given to Holy Name, and 2) you can avoid capital gains tax on their growth.
The fair market value assigned to gifts of securities is the mean between the highest and lowest quoted selling price on the date of delivery of the gift. The Foundation will notify the donor with amount of his/her contribution deduction based on the date that the transfer is completed. The Holy Name Legacy Society honors individuals who have made a planned gift to benefit Holy Name. Examples include:
- Leaving a bequest (a gift in your will) to the Holy Name Foundation
- Naming Holy Name Foundation as a beneficiary of your brokerage account, retirement plan or life insurance policy
- Creating a charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder trust to support Holy Name Medical Center and receive income payments
If you have already made a legacy gift to the Holy Name Foundation, please let us know. Individuals who make a legacy gift are welcomed to the Holy Name Legacy Society.

Matching Gifts
Matching gifts allow you to double or sometimes triple your gift to the Holy Name Foundation. Many companies match their employees' charitable contributions, and some companies even match the gifts of spouses or retirees. Matching gifts provide an important and simple way to enhance your charitable intentions. To find out if your company offers a matching gift program contact your Human Resources or Benefits office.
Events
Holy Name Foundation hosts a series of unique fundraising events providing opportunities to interact, celebrate and make a collective impact, including golf outings, local community events, and our premier black tie gala, The Founders Ball.
The Foundation relies on the generosity of its Sponsors and Partners to ensure the success of these events. The Foundation will be happy to work with you to develop a comprehensive benefits package, in an effort to meet your own unique objectives. In-Kind Donations
Donations of goods, supplies and products help supplement the activities and entertainment we provide our patients and supporters. In-kind gifts can also be donated for our events, auctions and raffles.

Foundation Grants
Holy Name Foundation pursues and is the recipient of local, national, family, private and community foundation grants. Foundation grants support a myriad of critical program needs within Holy Name. Donor Advised Funds
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving account managed, maintained and operated by a 501(c)(3) sponsoring organization. Some taxpayers find that donor-advised funds help monitor charitable giving activity, efficiently involve their family in charitable gift discussions and maximize tax benefits.
You can fund your DAF with cash, stock, real estate and other assets to maximize your tax benefits. Then, recommend a grant from the DAF to the Holy Name Foundation. You can name the Foundation as your DAF beneficiary, which designates remaining funds towards our mission.
