Cultivating Future Pharmacy Leaders
The Holy Name postgraduate year one (PGY-1) pharmacy residency is an ASHP-accredited program that provides an excellent opportunity for highly motivated individuals to acquire the skills, knowledge, training, and experience required to become future leaders in pharmacy.
The PGY-1 pharmacy residency program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists. Upon successful completion of the program, the resident will be prepared to:
- Practice in a direct patient care environment
- Pursue a faculty position
- Become board-certified
- Pursue post-graduate year two (PGY2) residency training
Our residents receive outstanding clinical training in both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy care. The residency curriculum combines clinical, and operational training components in order to provide a well-rounded experience. The program offers a variety of opportunities for the resident to develop critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills necessary to optimize patient care outcomes.
