Not getting enough sleep? Sleep deprivation is a significant health and safety problem that affects nearly 70 million people in the U.S. It may be caused by a number of sleep disorders and often leads to physical, mental and social problems. For effective treatment, sleep medicine specialists need to evaluate the results of a patient's overnight sleep study.
Holy Name's Center for Sleep Medicine provides professional one-night sleep studies that can be done in the Center's hotel-like, state-of-the-art accommodations or at the patient's home. The multidisciplinary sleep medicine team evaluates each patient and determines the most appropriate study based on the patient's individual needs, symptoms and overall health status. Holy Name offers several at-home testing devices for eligible patients. The non-invasive testing equipment is simple to use and rarely interferes with sleep.
Once the sleep study is concluded, a board-certified sleep medicine physician interprets the results and recommends treatment options, based on the patient's individual needs and condition. The physician then sends the results and consults with the patient's personal doctor.
The Center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and is directed by pulmonologists and internists who are board-certified in sleep medicine.
Each of the Sleep Center's six suites is elegantly designed with a queen size bed, recliner, TV/DVD with cable, individual temperature control, free Wi-Fi and private bathroom and shower. The Center has free on-site parking next to the building and is conveniently located across the street from Holy Name Medical Center.
